OLD TOWN

Old Town is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city and it maintains that unique old-world flavor to this day with charming historic buildings, safe & walkable sidewalks, a predominance of independent businesses, sidewalk cafes, and a truly European-style neighborhood feel. Take a walk along historic Main Street, shop at one of its quaint shops along East Hennepin Avenue or dine at one of its award-winning restaurants and you’ll see why so many people love this neighborhood so much.

Located directly across the Mississippi River from downtown and at the southern tip of Northeast Minneapolis and western edge of Southeast Minneapolis, Old Town includes all the popular shops, bars, and restaurants on and around East Hennepin, Central Ave SE,  and 1st Ave NE.  The retail & restaurant district includes the triangular area from Main Street on the riverfront to the intersection between Central Ave & 7th St SE (Otter’s Saloon).
